Co-incident with the implementation of high-density policies in Sydney the median price of housing lots has increased from A$150,000 to A$350,000 over a five year period during which the annual greenfield housing land production on the Sydney fringe decreased by 6,000 lots from the historic 10,000 lots (The 2009 Urban Development Institute of Australia State of the Land: National Land Supply Study, p.5).
